Membership Types

Membership is open to individuals who support the objectives defined in the SCCCI Constitution, and the Club’s primary purpose is to represent and improve the breed. While membership is unrestricted as to residence, membership is predominatly from the AKC Club defined region (125 mile radius of Washington DC), and consists of breeders, exhibitors, and Chow Chow owners. SCCCI has three (3) types of membership available to individuals who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of SCCCI. The memberships types are:

Adult Membership: shall be open to all persons eighteen (18) years of age and older. Adult members enjoy all the privileges of the Clup including the right to hold office and to vote.

Junior Membership: memberships shall be open to persons under eighteen (18) years of age. Junior membersshall enjoy all the privileges of the Club except voting or holding office. Upon reaching eighteen (18) years of age, a junior member, if wishing to remain a member of the Club,must apply for Adult membership.

Honorary Lifetime Memberships: shall be awarded by the Board of Directors to a member who has instituted, performed or accomplished some outstanding contributions in the interest of the Club, and is at least 62 years of age and has been a member of SCCCI for at least ten (10) years. Honary Lifetime members shall be entitled to all privileges of Adult membership,but shall be exempt from paying dues.
